Drake & Kanye sued for “Stealing”

Drake & Kanye West

This must be the year of lawsuits among our favorite artist.  New to this list, that it seems I’ve compiled is Drake, the BET Awards winner is being sued by Playboy for his first single, “Best I ever Had”.  The lawsuit claims copyright infringement for its unlawful use of “Fallin in Love” which is owned by Hugh Hefner.  The original song was performed by Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds.

Now Kanye West has similar lawsuit pending from  songwriter/producer Vincent Peters.  Which according to Sickhop.com, claims  he wrote, played and gave the track to John Monopoly, a business associate of Mr. West.  A few months later the song was released with some of Peters original recordings.   Are these artist irresponsible or just don’t care when it comes to copyrights?  I’m sure these men are well aware of the trouble involved with not getting a sample cleared or permission to use it!  SMH…well if they’re not aware they will be soon!!
